Boldyn Networks hailed speedy progress in a small cell deployment in the UK’s capital city, a neutral host network it stated is an important element in a 5G densification strategy for the metropolis.
The tally of small cells deployed in London is now more than 200, a feat Boldyn Networks stated advances the city’s digital connectivity goals while boosting options available to UK mobile operators.
Boldyn Networks highlighted it is working to a three-month order-to-activation timeline, “much faster than the standard small cells activations”.
It began the project in late 2023.

Brendan O’Reilly, CEO of UK and Ireland, said Boldyn Networks is reaping the benefit of an exclusive 20-year concession with public transport operator Transport for London which helps the company avoid the need for fresh planning permissions and other “traditional barriers” to deployments.
The arrangement provides Boldyn Networks with access to 80,000 fibre-connected street assets, 2,000km of ducts and 400km of underground fibre.
O’Reilly said this is enabling the company to deliver “high-performance connectivity in high-footfall areas while preserving the city’s aesthetics and minimising disruption”.
Operators can employ the small cells to accelerate their 5G deployments, he added.
