Samsung highlighted a shift in consumer wellness habits ahead of a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for 9 July, positioning features contained in a forthcoming wearable user-interface (UI) update as a response to growing demand for smarter health tools.
Research commissioned by the vendor showed 80 per cent of UK consumers believe small daily lifestyle changes deliver long-term health benefits.
Samsung used the findings of a survey of 2,000 UK adults conducted by OnePoll in June to evidence what the vendor describes as a growing “micro-habit” movement, with nearly half of respondents stating small routine changes are easier to sustain than broader lifestyle overhauls.
The research found 33 per cent of respondents describe themselves as obsessively preoccupied with health tracking, though 32 per cent also admitted feeling overloaded by the volume of data.
Samsung stated 83 per cent of respondents want to see the “long-term effects of their health habits”.

Annika Bizon, mobile experience VP of product and marketing at Samsung UK and Ireland, said the results show everyday changes are as important as the “big moments”.
“It’s no longer about extremes, but consistency.”
Bizon inevitably positioned Samsung’s Galaxy Watch range as important to providing health information.
Samsung is gearing up to launch its One UI 8 Watch, which will feature a host of health features covering sleep, heart health, nutrition and fitness.
A beta of One UI 8 Watch was released earlier this week, with the full deployment expected during the Galaxy Unpacked event when Samsung is set to unveil the next generation of Galaxy devices.
