T-Mobile US introduced nationwide network slicing for businesses as part of a new plan called SuperMobile, which also includes built-in security and satellite connectivity through its partnership with Starlink.
After rolling out its out its standalone (SA) 5G network across the US in 2020 ahead of rivals AT&T and Verizon, T-Mobile launched its 5G-Advanced network nationwide in April. It uses the network to deliver network slicing to businesses and first responders.
Using the operator’s entire 238MHz of spectrum, network slicing allows it to steer, prioritise and manage traffic based on users’ priorities at a given time.
The plan includes advanced encryption, device authentication and privacy protections, along with Threat Protect to secure smartphones, even on public Wi-Fi.
