Chinese device maker Xiaomi dismissed its GM for China marketing Wang Teng for allegedly sharing confidential information and conflicts of interest, Yicai Global reported.
Wang, who joined the company in 2016, was let go for serious discipline infractions, Xiaomi announced in an internal email, the newspaper wrote.
Local financial platform Futubull reported he was dismissed for allegedly providing pricing strategies for the company’s electric vehicles and supply chain costs to three external agencies in exchange for consulting fees.

While Wang posted on Weibo “I made some mistakes and I accept the due consequences”, other local media reported him saying he did not steal company secrets and did not receive money, calling the accusation “outrageous”.
He was promoted to his latest position at the end of 2024 and also served as product director for the company’s smartphone sub-brand Redmi since 2020.
