Dell’Oro Group found a significant drop in WLAN spending in China prevented worldwide revenue growth from reaching double digits in Q3, but reported strong figures in all other regions.
Research director Sian Morgan stated WLAN revenue in China contracted by double digits.
She stated the Middle East and Africa led market expansion, while most regions rebounded from declines seen in 2024.
The research company reported public cloud-managed WLAN offerings grew at twice the rate of the overall market, driven by higher average selling prices.

On the vendor front, Morgan stated Cisco led by revenue despite being “late to the Wi-Fi 7 party”, due in part to an aggressive pricing strategy.
She noted the latest technology has “ramped faster for Cisco than any prior version of Wi-Fi”.
Morgan told Mobile World Live Cisco sold its first Wi-Fi 7 access point a year after the first North American competitor and almost two years after one commercialised in China.
